Just a moment…..

The glow and warmth of a campfire,

The soft chirping of crickets in the distance,

The sticky goodness of roasted marshmallows……..

The buzzzz and sting of a bite from a damn misquote!

There is very little grey area when it comes to camping, most people either hate it or love it. Either with a tent or a trailer, camping can be a ton of work for a few days of “relaxation”. Making lists, packing, fixing or replacing equipment, shopping for essentials or the newest gear and gadgets….whew, are we ready to go yet?

Now that everything is packed and organized, where are you going to camp? There are so many options, private campgrounds, a larger chain campground like the KOA or out in the middle of nowhere. Do you want a campground that allows alcohol, pets or a campground that has lots of activities for the little ones? When is the relaxation supposed to kick in?

Once you get to the campground and get your site, then drive around for half an hour looking for it and then find it, you get to set up. Cussing a blue streak because you forgot something…even though you know it was put into the pile to be loaded into the vehicle.

Finally everything is set up the little ones are off playing and you sit quietly by a nice bonfire with your feet up and a cold drink (much needed drink), you can relax.

Even though it is such a hassle, I personally fall into the group of people who like camping. We have camped in tents, trailers and cabins and they all have their own perks and flaws, but with the help of some of the articles in this issue they can be a little less stressful.

Or you can be like someone I know well, who shall remain nameless, and just book a room at a nice hotel!
